[Giveaway] Little Planet Playland

It’s been a while since Laurent’s last visit to an indoor playground. The last time he went to one, was to attend Amber’s birthday party and as usual, he was all over the ball pit 🙂

Last month, we learnt about a spanking new indoor playground, Little Planet Playland, through Bumble Bee Mum’s review and were so thrilled that Laurent and Emma could have a play date there to try out their facilities!

Little Planet Playland is a miniature world for children to engage in imaginative and purposeful pretend play. Their small, interconnected children’s play area was designed with the purpose of encouraging social skills, hands-on learning experiences and role playing.

We changed into our socks, got our temperature measured, sanitised our hands and were off to play!

Walking through the leafy green arch, we were greeted by the spacious forest maze. It seemed like a wonderful place to rest and chill when the kids are tired from all the fun. But they were just getting started!

Laurent’s curiosity led him straight to the farm and he went to work immediately, harvesting some carrots and offering them to me in great enthusiasm. Trying to get me to add them to his porridge, maybe?

He then wandered over to the sand pit which was filled with tiny brown bits made to look and feel like soil! Actually, I think they looked more like coco pops 😀

The sand pit let Laurent and Emma engage in sensory play as they got use to the texture of the “soil” and it also gave us the chance to teach them about sharing and cooperating as they exchanged their spades and helped each other to fill up their pails.

After they had enough fun “toiling” around, we went for a shopping trip at the market place!

Oh yes, that’s got to be mama’s favourite activity 😀

We ended up with trolleys full of food before the kids concluded that we have enough food for tea (a week’s worth of tea, really) and went scrambling to do some fishing.

I love the whimsical detail of the “origami” boat in the river, but was definitely a little paranoid about the pointy cone-like object in the middle. But the kids had no issue manoeuvring their way around it and still enjoyed their little “boat” ride 🙂

The “river” was filled with a lot of colourful and interesting creatures, which can be great teaching material! You could, for example, explain about about a frog’s life cycle with these!

After their little boat trip, the kids clearly forgot about the truckload of food they carted out at the supermarket and went to the kitchen and cafe area to whip up more food!

Emma was very focused and I think she managed to get her stove going, but someone was just sticking around the pantry 😐

We didn’t even manage to make our way to the super cute kitchen set before Laurent got distracted by the castle “next door” and went charging towards it.

He lived out the knight in him, going around the castle, sliding down the slide and made sure he get the whole layout right so he could rescue his princess once she’s done with her chores (cooking).
The slide was a little steep but he found it extremely fun and kept going ‘yes!’ when we asked him ‘again?’. We just had to make sure that one of us was as the bottom of the slide to catch him when he comes zooming down.

After more than 2 hours of play, the kids FINALLY seemed a little tired and gladly welcomed a photo session on their little thrones 🙂

And with smiles on their faces and full diapers waiting to be changed (sorry TMI), we concluded our happy play date 🙂

What we love about Little Planet Playland!

I love how the themes of the different play areas vary from every day life scenarios (e.g. market place, kitchen & cafe), to scenarios that the kids don’t usually get to experience (e.g. fishing and farming) to another which conjures up their imagination and let them indulge in pretend play (e.g. castle).

The place is very clean, neat and organised so I was perfectly ok when Laurent went on all fours or started doing leopard crawl (I wasn’t sure what he was pretending to be at that point, hmmm). However, I do find that the floor was a little slippery. The kids were not running around so we were not too concerned, but maybe bringing those anti-slip socks might be useful.

Another thing I love about Little Planet Playland is its convenient location at The Centrepoint, along Orchard Road. This makes for an extremely good excuse reason for the whole family to go to town. You know, to have some fun with the kids at the indoor playground and then do some shopping after that since we are already there 😉

Thank you so much to Little Planet Playland for hosting us, we had such fun!

My 2 kids would be very interested in the “sand” playing. I have never bring them to beach and play with sand, because it’s very troublesome and difficult to clean them up after sand playing . This indoor playground with special “sand” is a big plus plus point. I would love to win the ticket for my kids to enjoy the play. Hope lucky stars shine on me. ?

My kids will like the market place. They like to help me out in supermarket. So it would be great for them to be able to push the trolley themself.

Awww, I seldom bring Laurent to actual sandpits too so maybe that’s why he found it super intriguing! Good luck, Theresa!
