[Poppy Kitchen] Condensed Milk Bread with Raisins and Almonds Topping

I started my leave on 9 Jul, 3 days before my EDD, to prepare myself mentally and physically for Laurent’s arrival 🙂

I thought I would be resting a lot at home – slacking, reading, watching TV…

But on my first day of leave, I was up at my usual weekday timing, went to the gym, blogged, pottered around the house cleaning, packing, arranging stuff, taking out all the baby stuff like bottles, steriliser, pump parts, went grocery shopping for dinner, did laundry, cooked dinner. Oh, and baked a bread for breakfast the next day 😀

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERAI followed the recipe found in Nasi Lemak Lover’s Blog.

But mine turned out looking not quite like hers, you’ll see why later 😛

I had to do mine in a loaf tin because as I lined my chiffon baking tin, the dough only managed to reach half-way around the tin 😐

Thank God it still looked pretty decent coming out from a loaf tin!

I think I might add more condensed milk when I prepare the filing next time and maybe stuff some of the raisins in between the layers to spread out the taste. Otherwise, the texture is pretty good and the recipe is really easy!

I guess that will be my final bake before the long hiatus. I’ve stowed my mixer away in a dark corner of the storeroom this morning to make way for the pots, thermal flasks and steriliser.
