[Media Invite] MediaCorp Festival of Wheels 2015
Can’t believe it’s been more than 2 weeks since the happening and exciting weekend at MediaCorp Festival of Wheels 2015!
The event took place on the weekend of 9-11 October, just as Singaporeans are still basking in the adrenaline of the F1 night race from couple of weeks before. It was a great privilege to get media access to the exciting event as part of the MsBabeLoveBebes bloggers team where we get to check out media-only access areas like the paddock and interact with some of the participants.
Here’s a look at what went on at the Singapore Festival of Wheels 2015!
MediaCorp Rotax Max
At the OCBC Arena, engines were revving and the karts were zooming by at top speed as the heats for the Rotax Max Singapore Open were going on.
As the bloggers were given an all-access pass, we ventured to the paddock area to check out the behind-the-scenes happening of all the work that went on to prepare the karts for racing.
There were 8 different categories for the Rotax Max race and racers as young as 13 years old were taking part in the Junior category.
Even Laurent was greatly immersed in the excitement of the race and kept a close watch at the karts zooming past!
Auto-Gymkhana
The auto-gymkhana clinic and competition were happening concurrently at the car-park space next to the OCBC Arena.
Spectators watched in great anticipation as the cars sped, drifted and braked abruptly around obstacles.
I had the opportunity to speak to some of the participants who attended the clinic and they shared about how they appreciate the organisers for putting together this event for motor sports enthusiasts to gather, learn from each other and share their interests with the general public.
I almost wanted to request for a ride on one of the cars, but I didn’t want to hold up the group of very enthusiastic guys from picking up more drifting tricks from the masters!
Urban Wheels Challenge
At the side of Kallang Wave Mall, another exciting event of a different nature was on-going.
Cyclists were zooming down stairs and bouncing off ramps on their bikes at the Urban Wheels Challenge. I was holding my breath when I watched them performing all the stunts and clearing all the obstacles!
Carnival & Photobooth
Besides all the heart-thumping actions, the carnival was also a great attraction for the whole family, especially the kids!
There were old school carnival games from Uncle Ringo where you could collect a prize for completing a game card and a photo booth with retro costumes from MediaCorp!
And there were gorgeous cars and sexy Harley bikes on display where you could take some photos with them and imagine yourself to be one of those cool riders.
Laurent’s favourite attraction of all, was undoubtedly the bouncing castle!
We visited it near the ending time of the event so he ALMOST had the whole place to himself 🙂
Sadly, I was only available to cover the event on Saturday, but I had such great fun doing that! Sunday was the finals for all the competition so I heard the atmosphere was even more exciting and the adrenaline-pumping actions were even more intense!
Check out the coverage of the event by Danessa, Jasmine, Leechi, and Tracy! They even had some star-sightings when the celebrities visited the photo booth, which I missed!
What an amazing feeling it was, recounting the fun-filled weekend! I’m looking forward to an even bigger and better Festival of Wheels 2016!
Huge thanks to the organisers for putting together this amazing event which is a first of its kind in Singapore, the generous event sponsors for supporting this event, goodie bag sponsors for all the wonderful products and pampering treats for the blogger team and of course, the team of MsBabeLoveBebes bloggers who were such a joy to work with 😀
