[Fashion] Montblanc SG50 Exhibition Closing Ceremony

I was half way through the laundry on a Tuesday morning when I received a direct message on Instagram.

And it was one of the best DM I’ve ever received!

I happened to see some Instagram posts about the #MontblancSG50 Instagram Contest on the morning of National Day and decided to incorporate the brand’s element into my SG50 post and give the contest a shot.

Quite thankful that I chose to buy a Montblanc pen for Wayne’s birthday this year, so I could take part in the contest. And even more thankful that I was selected as one of the winners!

We were invited to the Montblanc SG50 Exhibition Closing Ceremony at Ngee Ann City for the prize presentation last evening and we had such a great time!

The exhibition showcased the limited edition SG50 collection from Montblanc, consisting of a Star Classique timepiece and a range of commemorative Meisterstück White Solitaire writing instruments.

The Classique Fountain Pen (S$1,660), which is limited to 100 pieces, is completely sold out, but I could not resist holding it in my hand to admire the beauty of the Singapore skyline which was elegantly engraved on to the pen.

The rollerball (S$1,500) and the ballpoint pens (S$1,350) also feature the same beautiful skyline of Singapore engraved onto its red gold fittings which contrasts perfectly against the precious white lacquer. Both versions of the pen are limited to 200 pieces each.

For horology enthusiasts, you will definitely want to check out the Montblanc Star Classique Singapore Special Edition timepiece ($14,200) which is limited to just 50 pieces. It features a pure white mother-of-pearl dial, precious red gold-plated feuille hour and minute hand, encircled in its slim 39mm red gold case.

But these pieces are going fast so do check them out at a Montblanc store soon if you wish to own one of them!

At the event, Montblanc presented a donation of $50,000, which came from part of the sales of the SG50 commemorative pieces, to Pathlight School’s Poor and Needy Fund. They featured some of the artwork from the budding artists at Pathlight School and we were privileged to meet some of them in person.

All the pieces there were beautiful, but Wayne and I were particularly fascinated by the artwork of Glenn Phua. The level of details you see in his work speaks volumes of how gifted this gentleman is. We had a great chat with Glenn and his dad which helped us to appreciate Glenn’s work even more. We are now looking through the The Art Faculty’s catalogue to find a suitable artwork for our home. I urge you to check out the website too because there are a ton of amazing creations from the talented people at Pathlight School, waiting to be discovered 🙂

And finally, the main reason why we were at the event – the prize presentation!

We had a great time chatting with the 2 other winners and busking in surreal joy that we actually won the contest 😀

Thank you Montblanc for this extremely wonderful and meaningful event!

I LOVE my SG50 Meisterstück White Solitaire to bits and I could have never imagined that my first Montblanc pen will be so unique and hold such a significance 🙂
