We’ve always past by indoor playgrounds for children and Laurent would peer though the glass to look at the laughing children running around and look back at me with a bewildered expression like, “hey mom, why aren’t we going INSIDE?”

I’ve always thought that he is too young to really enjoy the facilities and activities inside so I thought I’ll let him try after he turns 1.

Couple of weeks back, the lovely people from Fun@Giggles extended an invitation for us to check out the new extension of their playground – Water Wonderland. They assured us that their playground is suitable for young kids and some of their regulars are even as young as 8 months! Since Laurent has been a ball of energy since he started actively crawling and exploring some months back, we thought it will be a great opportunity to start exploring places where he can better expend his energy.

 Fun@Giggles has 2 separate play areas. On one side is the indoor playground which has been in operation for about 2 years, and next door to the playground, the new Water Wonderland.

The Water Wonderland play area is separated into 3 rooms.

The first one is a multi-sensory play area with a very creative hideout dome made of up-cycled plastic bottles, lots of fun toys and colourful, bubble tubes.

The second room is more for physical activities, perfect for little gymnasts in the making! Laurent can’t use the hoops and rings yet, but he had tremendous fun with the huge, bouncing balls, soccer ball and gave the swing a try.

And finally, the third room is where the water wonders are!

There is a Giggles River, Mini Pool and Water Course, all filled with colourful and interesting toys for kids to grab and play with. You sure can spend lots of time there teaching kids about different animals (like the squid which Laurent loves and Emma dislikes!), colours, textures and even hydrodynamics! For kids that are not tall enough, there are also little stools for them to stand on. Laurent LOVES water so any chance to touch water, he jumps at it. But initially, he seemed a little confused as he probably thought he was able to get INTO the water. I was expecting more water at the Water Wonderland but Laurent still managed to have quite a lot of fun all the same!

The kids spent more time exploring the different rooms at the Water Wonderland again before we moved on to check out the indoor playground next door.

Remember to take a close look at this wall mural when you’re at Giggles! It’s made up of 3D pop-up hearts as part of a fund-raising drive for the Rainbow Centre Building Fund. And there are so many of the hearts, it created a record in Singapore Book of Records for the Largest Logo made of Pop Up Hearts!

The space is perfect for physical, sensory, imaginative and pretend play!

Laurent can’t quite play on the slides yet, but he definitely loves the ball pit!

Yup, he enjoyed it so much, he wanted to sleep there -_-

It’s Laurent’s first time exploring an indoor playground and we were pleasantly surprised that he enjoyed it so much! We were there for around 2 hours and I think the little ball of energy even emptied his ‘reserve fuel’ and fell asleep the very moment we stepped out of the building!
