Name Reveal – Baby Elise
A number of you have been asking if we’ve decided what to name our little babe and I believe I’ve answered some of you but also gave ambiguous answers to some because I wanted to share a “name reveal” blog post!
If you’ve seen my previous blog post on our maternity shoot, some sharp-eyed friends might have already realise that our little girl is also a Baby E (like our angel baby – Ellie).
I thought of Laurent’s name even before I became pregnant and I was thrilled when we found out that we were expecting a boy so I could name him Laurent!
Similarly, Elise’s name came to me without much thought, and even before we found out the baby’s gender.
When the name Elise came to my mind, I immediately grew a liking to it because I love how it sounds like Ellie, that it has a french origin (not made in France this time, but we did go France for our babymoon so I guess close enough?) and most importantly, the meaning of the name – Consecrated to God or God’s Promise.
Elise is pronounced as “Eh-lees” (I know, I will be clarifying the pronunciation for Elise just like how I’m doing for L now haha).
We chose a name which starts with “E” instead of “L”, like Laurent, because I liked the idea of the 2 names coming together to form “LE” (δΉ). For I believe they will always be our LovE and joy (δΉ) π I guess it could be a useful reminder when parenting gets tough and I’m not feeling the “love and joy” too much π
